My birthday, the Civil War and the Monitor!
My birthday is next Sunday, Jan. 29th. There will be a parade in Greenpoint to celebrate the building and launch of the Monitor. (Remember learning about the Monitor and the Merrimack in school? I hope you do.) It was built in and launched from Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Maybe I'll march, but I don't have a civil war outfit and there will be re-enactors there. Maybe I won't march. But I will record it with my flip recorder. It should be fun.
Now, for something completely different. (Did I just steal that from Monty Python?) Someone looks at my blog almost every day, according to the stats, and never leaves me a comment. I have no idea who it is, but please, say something. Anything. It can be good or you can say that you don't like my blog, in which case I must wonder why you return every other day. But say something. That's all about that.
Oh yes, and another thing, who in Russia is reading my blog? I don't know anyone from Russia. Well, that's not completely true, I do but they all live in the U.S. now. These are the top two countries that my hits come from, the United States (completely understandable) and Russia (like, wha?). 'Nuf said. My family comes from Ireland, and they don't even read my blog! Well, because I'm American and the Irish don't really like Americans, even though they pretend to. It was my grandparents who emigrated here, and they became American citizens and never wanted to go back; but, they sent money and clothing for their families over there which is why they survived at all. And now they detest us; go figure.
