Here's a blast from the past.  This is my first homepage at Angelfire.  I haven't looked at it in years; but, it is still there.  Of course, HTML Gear, which I used to update it with, has been taken down becuse they want us to pay for everything now.  Ah, the good old days of the internet!  Of course, I had to write the HTML from scratch to do everything, including background color, frames, content and graphics.

Anyway, here is a peek at it.

Mice!

In a previous post, I spoke about happiness being a slow cooker, or part of it. Now, I will talk about unhappiness being a dead mouse on your kitchen floor when you get up in the morning. Yes, it is true. There was a dead mouse on my kitchen floor. Now, let me explain. The exterminator put poison behind the stove to kill the mice, and told me that they would eat the poison then go back down the mouse hole and die. He was right about one point, the mice did eat the poison; however, one mouse decided not to go back down the mouse hole to die, it went out to my kitchen floor to die! So there I am just getting up in the morning. Just picture me wandering in to make coffee, still in my nightgown and not wearing my glasses. To Strive for Something is Worth It Regarding life, I think we work very hard for most of our lives in order to attain a certain goal.  At least, we should.  We need something to strive for because without that, we have nothing.  Some people feel that work is fruitless and we should just have everything given to us.  How sad that is.  It is sad because people who feel that way are missing out on so much in life.  They are missing out on the sense of achievement that comes along with reaching your goal(s).  They are missing out on that feeling of pride that happens when you do something that everyone said you could never do.  This is not vanity, but pride that comes from achieving something.  They are missing out on meeting and working with others who have also achieved a difficult goal.  But most of all, they are missing out on life itself. Life is not one big party.  Life is made up of many facets, one of which is work....

I am returning to DC tomorrow!  For Memorial Day weekend.  I will go to Arlington again; but, this time for a different purpose.  A friend of mine was killed in Afghanistan last year and he is buried there.  I must visit his grave. Other than that, it should be a good trip.
